Compassion in World Farming Award for Acorn

Valentine Warner presented one of only a few Good Dairy Awards to be given, to Acorn Dairy. Compassion in World Farming recognises Acorn’s strong attention to their cow and calves welfare.

Already farming to Soil Association organic standards, and putting strong emphasis on access to grazing, Acorn’s cows and calves are free to express their instinctive and natural individual, and herd, needs.

Acorn’s Head Herdman Barry gives a lot of attention to ensuring his cows have soft and comfortable walk ways, and regular foot trims.

This high level of care goes hand in hand with Acorn Dairy’s wider ethos of sustainable dairy farming at nature’s natural pace.
